January LAN - Update
Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:22

Hi all,

First and foremost, Happy 2008 from The Team here at FRAG LAN. We hope you have a fantastic year ahead and hope that you attend all our LAN's.

Secondly, I must apologise for jumping the gun on the Arena 77 front. I inadvertently spoke ahead of my time and announced that Arena 77 would be onboard with FRAG for the January event, however, it does not seem so at the moment as time constraints along with "The Festive Season Slow Down" has made it extremely difficult to finalise this arrangement. We can however say that we are in discussion with Arena77 at the moment to host a KZN qualifier for the Regional Finals to be held in Jhb in March. The winners of the Regional Finals will then go onto represent South Africa at Kode5 internationally for the World Championships.

Prizes for the January event are unfortunately nowhere near finalisation as yet as this time of year it is virtually impossible to expect anything from suppliers as they have had their well deserved break for the year as well, especially after the bumper season shopping. With regards to prizes, we will update everyone as to the prizes as soon as we possibly can. Please keep checking back for the updates.

Then, lastly, bookings are coming in nicely for the January event. We understand that it is difficult with 2008 having to start right from the beginning, so for those that have booked and intend on coming, we at FRAG LAN thank you for your support and can't wait to see you there. See you soon.

January Event - Bookings Open
Thursday, 20 December 2007 11:57

Right, the next FRAG LAN event is set and will be held from 25-27th January 2008 at Crawford College, La Lucia.

Bookings are open at Langames and as per the norm, if you are not able to book via Langames, just drop me a e-mail and I will book you on the FRAG site. My contact details are on the "The Team" page, located here.

The schedule for the LAN is not set as yet, but will be soon so check back for updates. Games will be revised as Call of Duty 4, Crysis and Unreal Tournament 3 are proving to be very popular. Sponsors are also not confirmed as yet, but there will be prizes.

Arena 77 is going to be using FRAG LAN as a Durban Qualifying Leg with the winners possibly going to Jhb to compete in the National Gaming League, so if you're into gaming as much as most of the FRAG Lanners, you don't want to miss this one.

See you there and have a fantastic Festive Season. Make sure you get lots of pc hardware for Christmas.

One leaves us
Thursday, 13 December 2007 16:46

It is with sadness that we announce that founding member Ron2K has decided to leave the FRAG team. Ron has been struggling with study commitments and FRAG since September (which is why he hasn't been at the last two events), and finally decided that it was in his best interests to pull out of FRAG.

Ron has handed over control of the website to douglash and control of the forums to freeloader, so they are now the people to contact for any problems related to the above.

We wish Ron all the best in the future, and hope that one day he'll rejoin us.
